Ahriman's Prophecy

Ahrimans Prophecy is a console-style RPG set in a medieval fantasy realm. There are many choices the player can make such as becoming holy or evil, gathering other characters to join you on your quest, stealing from people and even getting married. Ahrimans Prophecy features more than 40 hours of gameplay and 30 sub quests.

Beneath A Steel Sky

Beneath A Steel Sky is a science-fiction adventure game, with a good story line, interesting characters and challenging puzzles. It was originally released for purchase in 1994, but thanks to the new engine it can be played on XP, MacOS, Linux, Amiga and PocketPC. Environments are detailed and interesting. Beneath A Steel Sky features full voice acting and a sound track.

Cave Story

Cave Story is a platform game with many RPG elements. The graphics and sound are old-school yet impressive. The game has a good storyline and there are many characters to talk to and help. There are many weapons to pick up along the way, each one of them with the ability to "level up". Cave Story is one of the best freeware games ever made, any fan of platform or RPG games should definately check it out.

Dink Smallwood

Dink Smallwood is a humorous isometric adventure game. The story is about a peasant who wants to prove he is a hero. It has all the normal features of an adventure game, level ups, spells, weapons, talking, combats and doing quests. Dink Edit' is included with the game so you can make your own maps and players. There are lots of fanmade "D-Mods" avaiable to download.

Eternal Daughter

Eternal Daughter is a massive, non-linear platform-style RPG game. The game contains innovative and varied challenges, intuitive controls and smooth gameplay. There are many enemies, bosses and a variety of interesting creatures to either befriend or kill. Eternal Daughter features an original soundtrack and really smooth animation.

King's Quest II+ VGA

King's Quest II+ VGA is a remake of the Sierra game King's Quest II: Romancing The Throne. It represents the 1985 game using VGA graphics, an icon-driven interface and changes to the storyline. This point and click adventure canotains many challenging puzzles and a soundtrack with more than two hours of music.

King's Quest III Remake

King's Quest III Remake is a remake of the 1989 classic, King's Quest III: To Heir Is Human made with the AGS engine.

PlaneShift

PlaneShift is a 3D fantasy MMORPG, which is actually fully free (unlike most of the "free" MMORPGs around). You can create a character, live and battle in the changing fantasy world. Still in development, many features are yet to be put in, however it is still playable.

Sam and Max: Abe Lincoln Must Die!

Genuinely hilarious games are quite rare, not to mention fantastic! This is one such game. It's a 3D point-and-click comedy adventure, starring two freelance police. Although it's only one episode in a series, it's still complete as it is. Telltale Games also make Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People with the creators of Homestar Runner. Props for that!

Seiklus

Seiklus is an interesting adventure game. It is a platform game with a focus on exploration. The player moves around different areas and collects coloured wisps.

The Spirit Engine

Although I haven't played it yet, The Spirit Engine is allegedly "one of the highest quality freeware games ever made" according to the review at Home Of The Underdogs. It is a strategic RPG with a platform-style view. In this RPG you assemble a party of three characters, each with their own unique characteristics that will change the outcome of certain events in the game. The battle system requires some strategy. As well as great gameplay, this game also has impressive graphics and music.

The White Chamber

The White Chamber is a point-and-click horror adventure game with a mysterious storyline. The game features fantastic Anime-style graphics that give a great vibe, hand drawn opening and ending animated cut-scenes are also quite impressive. The sound contains haunting ambient noise, disturbing sound effects and voice acting. There are a total of 8 different endings and a selection of easter eggs.

Vulture's Eye

Vulture's Eye is an isometric version of the popular old-school rougelike game NetHack. Most levels are randomly created, and there are 50 of them in total.

Zelda Classic

Zelda Classic is a tribute to highly acclaimed Nintendo game The Legend of Zelda'. It has been developed into an exact replica of the NES game and also allows the development of new quests, use traditional or re-vamped graphics, as well as new enemies, items and challenges.
