ATnotes

Atnotes is a utility that allows you to create virtual notes on your desktop. The notes are customisable in colour and font settings, notes can also be sent to other computers on a local area network. You can also put alarams on notes and see an overview on the notes in the notes list.

CCleaner

CCleaner is a Windows optimization tool which cleans your system from temporary and unnecessary files that accumulate over time. These files include temporary files, log files, browser cache, Chkdsk file fragments, cookies etc. In addition, the program comes with a registry scanner that scans for invalid references. The "Slim" edition doesn't contain the toolbar, so I'd reccomend that one.

ClearType Tuner

ClearType Tuner is a Windows PowerToy for Windows XP. It smooths screen fonts and allows for configuration. Highly recommended!

CPU-Z

Ever wanted to know anything about the hardware in your computer? Well, CPU-Z can probably tell you. You can get information about a computer's processor, motherboard chipset, RAM and other hardware. It is no longer a portable application, but versions prior to 1.5.1 are.

Duplicate File Finder

This application finds and optionally deletes duplicate files. Probably not useful for most people for everyday use, but if you ever need to find duplicate files (maybe to clear necessary files on an disorganized hard drive) it works.

Everything

This is a search program which is INSTANT. Well, it takes a little while for it to index hard drives, then it is literally instant. If you ever search for files on a regular basis, this is a must-have. It only works on NTFS formatted drives, but this would be most hard drives used by Windows.

Foxit Reader is a PDF viewer. It loads very fast compared to Adobe Reader and has support for bookmarks and other PDF features.

IZArc

IZArc is a archiving tool that you can use to extract, open and create compressed files in many different formats. It offers many advanced features, including repairing of broken archives, searching within archives, password protecting, emailing of archives and much more.IZArc can also be used to create self-extracting, disk-spanning archives and more. IZArc supports most popular archive formats, including 7-ZIP, ACE,ARC, ARJ, BH, BZ2, CAB, DEB, GZ,HA, JAR, LHA, LZH,PAK, PK3, RAR, RPM, TAR,TGZ, TZ, ZIP and ZOO.

Klavaro

This is a typing tutor program. It guides you through typing letters, words and paragrahs, and you can chose many different language and keyboard layouts. It doesn't have an onscreen keyboard, and it doesn't let you backspace either, which could be a good thing, but if you don't like it you should try TypeFaster instead.

Launchy

Launchy is a utility designed to make launching programs and files easy. There is no need to sift through folders and menus to launch your software a few taps on the keyboard will suffice.

NFGDump

This is a tool that dumps and restores NTFS, compressed NTFS, FAT16, FAT32 and arbitrary partitions. You can clone the contents of a hard drive to another hard-drive with this program. It also supports compression, encryption, splitting and page file removal for dump files.

Poke

With this program you can alter variables in other applications. In other words, you can cheat in single-player games! First of all you type in a number (e.g. a player's score), then you change the number in the game (e.g. gaining more points) and input this updated number into Poke. Then, if all goes well, you will be able to change this variable in Poke! It won't work for all games, but it sure is a lot of fun when it works!

QuickSFV

If you need to check the accuracy of files then this is a good option. It can read and generate .sfv, which can be useful for ensuring data accuracy when sending or receiving files.

RocketDock

It's like the Mac dock, but for Windows! Now all you need to to is paint your PC case white and download some Mac OS X theme from DeviantArt or wherever and you've got yourself a cheap Mac! Probably.

Samurize

Serious Samurize, or just "Samurize", is a system monitoring and desktop enhancement engine. It includes a WYSIWY editor for making widgets called "configs".

TinyResMeter

TinyResMeter is a small utility that displays real-time system information aswell as much more detail through a context menu. TinyResMeter can also save and auto-name pictures captured with the "Print Screen" key as .BMP files.
