Freeware Media Players Apps
foobar2000
foobar2000 is an advanced audio player. It has high-quality audio output, tabbed playlists, gapless playback and plays many different types of audio files. Don't be put off by it's plain looks at first, foobar2000 is highly customizable, and you can get it looking very cool, look in the Hydrogenaudio forums.
Media Player Classic
Media Player Classic is a compact media player suitable for playing many types of audio and video. It can be used as a lightweight alternative for watching VCDs or DVDs or canm be used to play Quicktime and RealPlayer files. Media Player Classic also supports playback and recording of television if a supported TV tuner is installed. This is great as a universal video player, and also good for the default program your MP3 files open in, so you don't have to load iTunes or whatever everytime you want to play an audio file.
musikCube
musikCube is a simple and lightweight music player. musikCube uses plugins to provide core functionality for playback formats, and 3rd party plugins can be downloaded.
The Godfather
The GodFather is a a mass music renaming/tagging program. This application is very useful for fixing up the files names of many files at once, or putting ID3 tags to MP3 files with information from the file name.
VLC
VLC is a multimedia player which comes with it's own codecs, so it can play many diffreent types of video and audio files. It also has the ability to play the video content of incomplete, unfinished, or damaged video downloads before the files have been fully downloaded.
